In the Place Where Love Once Lived

A 13 track techno album (1h 28m 31s) — released March 30th 2015 on Eye 4 Eye Recordings

Danny Native, AKA Altered Natives, is one of the hardest and best known producers of Electronica in the UK. You know a producer is worth their weight in gold when they have been affiliated with the now defunct Goya Music label. 'In the Place Where Love Once Lived' (EYE4EYE Recordings) is a very tribal, gritty album. Full of heavy drum selections to go along with the hypnotic washes of bass. The track listings are themselves a journey giving the album meaning and additional purpose. The whole thing comes across like you're in an expansive unending search for the lost chord. A hallmark of trance is the "running" of the notes and scales in the underlying keyboards. Much of it feels like you're listening in a deep dark rainforest with slight breaks of sunshine throughout the canopy provided by the inclusion of the Mbira. There is always the unrelenting build of the beat, but the proverbial drop doesn't happen in the traditional sense. So much of the sound is about the experience with its subtle subconscious tones and vocal clips and it speaks to you through your Id providing a panoramic experience that bubbles slowly from within. The Bass heavy and sensually satisfying release will be available on March 30, 2015.
